Surviving Indian Summer Weddings

As soon as you get a wedding invitation card you look for the date. When is the wedding? Is it in summer? Ohh god!!! I don’t want to go to this wedding. This is the first thought that crosses your mind. Relax it’s okay.
It’s just summer. They might have booked a nice air-conditioned hall. Is what your mind tells you and you are normal for a second. But what if they haven’t? You again panic. My dear, please stop. No need to panic.

You always have options available and open, you just need to see and grab that opportunity. Well here I mean you need to select the right material you need to wear. You can’t wear pure silk. I mean you can wear but you will be boiling inside if you wear a pure silk sarees. You should straight away cancel out the heavy embroidery, high neck, full sleeves and high neck with high embroidery and heavy work dresses and sarees.

You can opt for rayon, light silk, pure cotton and linen materials for getting your dresses done. Mix match your nice heavy dupatta with a plain chicken kurta and a matching churidar. Or just go for a simple georgette dress. Top it with matching but not too heavy jewellery. Keep it, simple ladies. For your hairs, it’s definitely going to be hot and sweaty so you must be prepared for it. No matter how nice your blow-dry looks it will turn out into a mess in a while so you definitely want to avoid it. Try out some nice braids there are various hair tutorials available online.

If you wish to wear a saree it’s also a good option but avoid high neck blouses and heavy embroidery sarees as they will make you feel warm. Instead, opt for light-weighted plain saree with a nice, decent and simple border. You can always experiment with your blouses. Match your saree with nice long Kundan earrings, bindi or maybe a maang tikka will also go well if you plan to updo your strands. And of course, matching bangles always brightens your look.

Go for light makeup with a BB cream which lets your skin breath; do apply suns cream for a day event. Use peach or apricot shades for blush. Go for more of a natural look this summer than a heavy makeup as it will all come off. For an evening event go for eye shadows a Smokey eye will always do only if it doesn’t tend to go south as you sweat. For the day event, you can always apply bright pink and coral shades to match your summer glow look.

Hooyaahhh ladies!!! You are definitely all set and ready to go. Enjoy!!
