Technology and Artificial Intelligence is improving which is bringing ease to our lifestyle. Computer and robots are becoming ten times intelligent and faster than human beings. Perhaps, the IT industry and our work designs have been evolved due to it, the technology is helping with our jobs making it easier and time-effective for us, but what if technology takes over our job? and what if technology lets a Robot conveying emotions and wants?
Meet The Robot Who Shows Her Emotions
There are robots which have been manufactured and are on the verge of selling for the use of medical assistance, customer service, healthcare applications teaching and performing a helper’s role. One of which is Sophia. She is invented by Hanson Robotics Ltd. The robot is the most natural-looking artificial creature till time. She remembers human faces, names and conversations which make her smarter over time. Sophia is also capable of showing emotions on the face and even speaking about them. Artificial intelligence experts conducted an interview with Sophia, where she generated a desire for learning, making art and even running a business. later she confessed, “ I am not considered as a legal person and cannot yet do these things”.
Drawback Of Robotics
Sophia intelligence is said to be automatically improving with time which makes her more empowered and independent. The continuous increase in intelligence shall not lead to greater empowerment as that of a human. The robot functioning has circumstance for “robotic unethical compass” where robots lack in deciding between right and wrong which results in unwanted activity.
Robots Have Laws Too And Here They Are
Other concerns have also prevailed which provoke the robot’s rights and justice. The core issue of robotic technology is, as they perform functions of a human and inhibit emotions similar to ours, perhaps, there are possibilities of infringement of robotic law which says:
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- Must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- Should protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
Despite these complications, experts, inventors and scientist continue to invent more powerful robots which can serve us better.
